Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Sagano Line (also known as the Sanin Line) towards Saga-Arashiyama. Ride for 2 stops and get off at the Kuramaguchi Station. Transfer to the Keihan Main Line and ride towards Sanjo. Get off at the Sanjo Station. From here, walk to the bus stop Sanjo Keihan and take bus number 205 towards Kiyomizu-dera. Get off at Nishishinyashiki bus stop. From the bus stop, walk about 5 minutes to reach Makoto-no-yu located at 81-6 Nishishinyashiki Tayucho, Shimogyo Ward.

  • Walking

    If you are in the Nishiki Market area, you can walk to Makoto-no-yu. Head southwest on Nishikikoji Street towards Shijo-dori, continue walking until you reach the intersection with Karasuma-dori. Turn left on Karasuma-dori and walk for about 15 minutes until you reach the intersection with Shichijo-dori. Turn right and walk for another 10 minutes until you reach Nishishinyashiki Tayucho. Makoto-no-yu will be on your left.

  • Public Transport

    If you are near Gion, you can take the Keihan Line from Gion-Shijo Station towards Demachiyanagi. Ride for 2 stops and get off at Shichijo Station. From Shichijo Station, walk about 10 minutes west along Shichijo-dori until you reach Nishishinyashiki Tayucho. Makoto-no-yu will be on your right.
