Getting There

Subway
From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line (green line) towards Kokusaikaikan. Get off at Gojo Station (about 2 stops). From Gojo Station, take Exit 1. Once you exit, walk west along Gojo-dori Street for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Horikawa-dori. Turn left onto Horikawa-dori and continue walking for another 5 minutes. Nishi Hongan-ji Temple will be on your right.

Bus
From Kyoto Station, head to the bus terminal located just outside the station. Take bus number 9 or 28. Both buses will take you directly to the Nishi Hongan-ji Temple. Get off at the 'Honganji-mae' bus stop. After you disembark, the temple entrance will be a short walk away, just a couple of minutes to the north.

Walking
If you prefer walking, from Kyoto Station, exit the station and head west along Karasuma-dori for about 15-20 minutes. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Horikawa-dori, where you will see the Nishi Hongan-ji Temple on your right. This route is approximately 1.5 km and takes you past local shops and cafes.
