Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, head towards Kyoto from Nara. Take the Kintetsu Nara Line or the JR Nara Line to Kyoto Station. Once in Kyoto, follow signs to the Higashiyama area. Use the Kyoto City Bus service, taking Bus Number 202 or 206 from Kyoto Station to the Daigo-ji stop. The temple is a short walk from the bus stop.

    From Nara, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Yamato-Saidaiji Station. Transfer to the Kintetsu Kyoto Line and get off at Tofukuji Station. At Tofukuji Station, take the Kyoto City Bus Number 202 or 206 towards Daigo-ji. Get off at the Daigo-ji stop and follow the signs to the temple, which is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop.
