Car
From Zao Onsen, head southeast on Route 457 towards Sendai. Follow Route 457 for approximately 30 km until you reach the junction with Route 4. Merge onto Route 4 and continue driving for about 10 km. Take the exit towards Route 48, and after about 3 km, follow the signs to Nagamachiminami. The Sendai City Tomizawa Site Museum will be on your left at 4 Chome-3-1 Nagamachiminami. Make sure to have cash for tolls which can cost around ¥500 to ¥1,000 depending on the route.

Public Transportation
From Zao Onsen, take the Zao Onsen bus to Yamagata Station (approximately 30 minutes). From Yamagata Station, transfer to the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Sendai Station (about 30 minutes). Once at Sendai Station, take the Sendai City Bus (Line 18 or 26) towards Nagamachiminami. Get off at the 'Nagamachiminami' bus stop. The Sendai City Tomizawa Site Museum is a short walk from the bus stop. The total cost for this trip will be around ¥2,500, including bus and train fares.
