Hiking
Start your journey at the St. Mary Visitor Center, located on the east side of Glacier National Park. From the visitor center, head west on the St. Mary Lake trail. Follow the signs that direct you along the path that runs parallel to the northern shore of St. Mary Lake. After approximately 2 miles, you will reach a viewpoint that overlooks Wild Goose Island. This is the Wild Goose Island Lookout. Be sure to take your time as the trail can be steep and rocky in places.

Public Transportation (Shuttle)
If you're at the Apgar Visitor Center, board the park shuttle that travels to the St. Mary area. Once you arrive at the St. Mary area, disembark at the Wild Goose Island Lookout stop. From there, a brief walk will take you to the lookout point, providing stunning views of the island and the surrounding landscape.

For an adventurous route, rent a bike in the Apgar area. Ride along the Going-to-the-Sun Road towards St. Mary. The ride is about 20 miles, and there are designated bike lanes. Once you reach the St. Mary area, follow the signs to the Wild Goose Island Lookout, which is a short walk from the road.
