Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from Thamel, head south on the main road (Tridevi Marg) towards the Kathmandu Durbar Square. Continue straight for about 1 km until you reach the square, which should take around 15-20 minutes on foot. Once at Durbar Square, you will see the Hanuman Dhoka Palace. From here, take the exit by the entrance gate and head towards Hanuman Dhoka Road. Jagannath Temple is located just a short walk down Hanuman Dhoka Road, on your left. The temple is marked with a distinctive entrance gate and is set within a courtyard, so keep an eye out for its beautiful carvings and architecture.

Walking
If you are starting from the Kathmandu Durbar Square, you can simply walk to Jagannath Temple. Exit the square towards the west and follow the Hanuman Dhoka Road. The temple is approximately a 5-minute walk from the square. Look for signs directing you towards Jagannath Temple; it is located on the left side of the road, characterized by its ornate entrance and historical significance.

Public Transport
From anywhere in Kathmandu, you can take a local bus or microbus heading towards Basantapur. Alight at the Basantapur bus stop, which is very close to Kathmandu Durbar Square. From there, head towards Hanuman Dhoka Road, which is a short walk from the bus stop. Follow Hanuman Dhoka Road for about 5 minutes until you reach Jagannath Temple, located on your left.
