Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the Thamel area, head south on the road leading towards the Basantapur area. As you walk, you will pass several shops and restaurants. Continue straight until you reach the Ratna Park intersection, where you will see a large roundabout. Cross the road and follow the signs towards Basantapur Durbar Square. Once you reach the square, you will see the Gaddi Baithak on the western side of the square, distinguished by its distinctive architectural features.

Walking
From Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), walk down the hill towards the main road. When you reach the main road, turn right and follow the road towards the city center. Continue straight for about 2 kilometers until you reach the Ratna Park area. At the Ratna Park intersection, turn left towards Basantapur. Walk straight until you enter Basantapur Durbar Square, where Gaddi Baithak is located on the western edge of the square.

If you are at the Kathmandu Durbar Square, simply walk towards the western end of the square. Gaddi Baithak is situated near the entrance of the square. You can easily spot it as it is a prominent historical building with a unique architectural style. Look for the ticket booth for entry information.

From the Boudhanath Stupa, you can take a taxi to the nearest point of Ratna Park and then walk. Alternatively, walk towards the main road and catch a local bus that goes towards the city center. Once you reach Ratna Park, follow the signs to Basantapur Durbar Square and you will find Gaddi Baithak on the western side of the square.
