Walking
From the main square in Aguas Calientes, head west on Avenida Pachacutec towards the river. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Avenida Hermanos Ayar. Turn left onto Avenida Hermanos Ayar. The Mariposario of Machu Picchu will be on your right after approximately 300 meters. Look for the sign and entrance to the butterfly sanctuary.
Walking
If you are near the Aguas Calientes train station, exit the station and turn left onto Avenida Pachacutec. Walk straight for about 800 meters until you reach the intersection with Avenida Hermanos Ayar. Turn right onto Avenida Hermanos Ayar, and you will find the Mariposario of Machu Picchu on your right after around 300 meters.
Walking
For those staying at hotels along Avenida Hermanos Ayar, simply exit your accommodation and walk in the direction of the main square. The Mariposario of Machu Picchu is located along this avenue, so depending on your hotel’s location, it may be a short walk of about 5 to 15 minutes.
