Getting There

Walking
Exit the Gregorian Etruscan Museum and head towards the main entrance of the Vatican Museums. As you go, follow the signs for 'Vatican City'. Once you reach the entrance, you will see a large square in front of you. Continue straight ahead until you reach the main road, Viale Vaticano. Here, turn right and walk along the road until you reach the intersection with Via di Porta Angelica. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via della Conciliazione. At this point, turn left and walk down the street towards the Tiber River. Keep walking until you cross the river on the Ponte Sant'Angelo. After crossing, continue straight until you reach the large open area of Piazza San Pietro, where you can enjoy the view of St. Peter's Basilica.

From the Gregorian Etruscan Museum, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located on Viale Vaticano. Take bus number 81 towards 'Piazza Venezia'. After about 10 minutes, get off at the 'Piazza Venezia' stop. From there, you can see the impressive Altare della Patria. Walk towards Via del Corso and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via di San Lorenzo in Lucina. Turn right and walk until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the river on the Ponte Sant'Angelo, and you will arrive at Piazza San Pietro, where you can explore St. Peter's Basilica.
