Walking
From the center of Hallstatt, head towards the lakefront. Walk along the main promenade next to the lake, enjoying the picturesque views. Continue walking south along the lakeshore until you reach the Hallstatt ferry terminal. Here, you can catch the ferry to Obertraun. The ferry operates regularly, so check the schedule for departures. Once you arrive at the Obertraun ferry terminal, disembark and follow the signs towards the World Heritage Spiral (Welterbespirale). It's about a 20-minute walk from the ferry terminal. You'll need to head north along the main road (B166) and then turn left onto the path that leads to the observation deck. Look for the signs indicating the direction to the Welterbespirale.

Ferry
To reach the World Heritage Spiral, take the ferry from Hallstatt to Obertraun. Purchase your ticket at the Hallstatt ferry terminal. The ferry ride takes about 10 minutes. Upon arrival at the Obertraun terminal, exit the ferry and follow the pedestrian path leading north towards the main road (B166). Cross the road and continue walking in the direction of the signs for the Welterbespirale. The observation deck is about a 20-minute walk from the ferry terminal, so be sure to enjoy the scenic views along the way.

Public Transport (Bus)
If you prefer to take public transport, you can walk to the Hallstatt train station from the town center. It’s a short stroll. From there, take a train to Obertraun. After arriving at Obertraun station, exit and walk towards the ferry terminal. Follow the signs for the World Heritage Spiral (Welterbespirale), which is about a 25-minute walk from the train station, heading north along the main road (B166) and then taking the designated path to the observation deck.
