If you're traveling by car, start from central Hitachi and take Route 6 (the Joban Expressway). Follow the signs for Tokyo, continuing on Route 6 until you reach the junction with the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line. Take the exit towards Shinjuku and continue on the Shinjuku Bypass until you reach the Sumida area. Look for parking options nearby as Sumida Park has limited parking. Expect to pay approximately 500-1000 yen for parking, depending on the duration.

If you prefer public transportation, start by taking the Hitachi Line from Hitachi Station to Katsuta Station. At Katsuta Station, transfer to the Joban Line heading towards Ueno. Get off at Ryogoku Station. From Ryogoku Station, it’s about a 15-minute walk to Sumida Park. Follow the signs toward the Sumida River, and you'll find the entrance to the park at 1 Chome-3 Mukojima. The total train fare will be around 600-800 yen.

Another option is to take a bus from Hitachi to Tokyo. Look for the express buses heading to Tokyo Station. Once you arrive at Tokyo Station, transfer to the JR Sobu Line and get off at Ryogoku Station. From there, the walk to Sumida Park is approximately 15 minutes. The bus fare will typically cost around 3000-4000 yen for a one-way ticket.
