If you are driving from Hida, head southeast on Route 158. After approximately 30 kilometers, follow the signs for the Shinhotaka Ropeway, which will take you onto Route 471. Continue on Route 471 for about 12 kilometers until you reach the Shinhotaka Ropeway parking area. Parking fees may apply, so be prepared with some cash.
