Car
If you're traveling by car, start from central Kyoto and take the Meishin Expressway. Follow the signs towards Otsu and exit at Otsu IC. From the exit, take Route 1 towards Otsu City. Continue on Route 1 for about 15 minutes, and then turn onto Route 477. Follow this road for approximately 5 minutes until you see signs for the Shiga Museum of Art. There is parking available at the museum, but expect to pay a small fee for parking.

To reach the Shiga Museum of Art using public transportation, start by taking a train from Kyoto Station to Otsu Station on the JR Biwako Line (approximately 30 minutes). From Otsu Station, exit and look for bus stops nearby. Take the Shiga Kotsu Bus (number 20 or 21) towards 'Setaminamiogaya' and get off at 'Shiga Bijutsukan' bus stop, which is a 10-minute ride. The museum will be a short walk from the bus stop. Ensure you have some cash on hand to pay for the bus fare, which is around 210 yen.
