Getting There

    If you are starting from Kyoto Station, exit the station and head towards the bus terminal. Take bus number 100 or 206 and ride for about 15 minutes. Get off at 'Gion' bus stop. From the bus stop, walk down Shijo Avenue towards the east until you reach the Yasaka Shrine. Once at Yasaka Shrine, walk through the shrine grounds and exit towards the east, continuing straight until you see the Hokan-ji Gojunoto (Yasakanoto, Five Story Pagoda) on your left, just a short walk from the shrine.

    If you are near Sanjo Station, take the Keihan Main Line from Sanjo Station to Gion-Shijo Station. Exit the station and walk towards the east along Shijo Street.
