Getting There

  • Public Transport

    If you are in central Kyoto, head to the nearest bus stop and take bus number 100 or 206. Both buses will take you to the 'Kyoto Kaikan Bijutsukan-mae' stop. From there, walk for about 5 minutes towards the Okazaki area. You will pass the Kyoto City Library on your right, and the Kyoto Museum of Crafts and Design will be located at the Miyakomesse building on the left side.

  • Walking

    If you are near the Heian Shrine, you can walk to the Kyoto Museum of Crafts and Design. Exit the shrine grounds and head south towards the main road (Okazaki Seishojicho). Turn left and walk straight for about 10 minutes. The museum will be located in the basement level (B1F) of the Miyakomesse building, which is marked clearly.

  • Bicycle

    You can rent a bicycle from a nearby rental shop in the city. Head towards Okazaki area by cycling along the Philosopher's Path or any convenient road. Once you reach the Okazaki area, look for the Miyakomesse building; the Kyoto Museum of Crafts and Design is located in the basement level (B1F). Parking for bicycles is available near the entrance.
