Begin your journey by taking the JR Nara Line from Kyoto Station to Tofukuji Station. The journey takes about 10 minutes. From Tofukuji Station, transfer to bus number 202 or 207 heading towards Higashiyama. Get off at the Oidecho stop, which is about a 15-minute ride. From the bus stop, it's a short 5-minute walk to Shirakawa Bridge. The total cost for the train and bus will be approximately 500 yen.

For a scenic option, rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in central Kyoto. Cycle along the Kamo River, following the riverbanks towards the north until you reach Oidecho.
