Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving from central Settsu, take Route 170 (also known as the 'Kansai Circle Route') heading towards Osaka. Continue on Route 170 until you reach the interchange for Route 1. Merge onto Route 1 and follow the signs toward Kyoto. After approximately 30 minutes of driving, take the exit for Nakagyo Ward. Follow the signs to Chōhō-ji, which is located at 248 Donomaecho, Nakagyo Ward. Parking is available nearby, but please be aware that some parking lots may charge a fee.

  • Train and Walking

    To reach Chōhō-ji using public transportation, start by taking the train from Settsu-Minamiguchi Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line. Board a train bound for Kyoto and get off at Karasuma Station. From Karasuma Station, transfer to the Kyoto Subway (Karasuma Line) and take the train to Shijo Station. Once you arrive at Shijo Station, exit the station and walk north along Shijo Street until you reach the intersection with Karasuma Street. Turn left and continue walking until you reach Donomaecho. Chōhō-ji will be on your right at 248 Donomaecho. This journey may take approximately 50 minutes to 1 hour, including walking time.

  • Bus

    From Settsu, you can also take a bus to reach Chōhō-ji. Board the bus at Settsu Station bound for Kyoto, which should take you to Kyoto Station. From Kyoto Station, transfer to a city bus (Bus No. 205) heading towards Shijo-Kawaramachi. Get off at the Donomaecho stop. Chōhō-ji is just a short walk from the bus stop. Be sure to check the bus schedules, as they may vary throughout the day. The total travel time will be approximately 1 hour and may incur a bus fare.
