To reach Gahinga Volcano via public transportation, first take a bus from Kigali to Musanze. The bus ride will take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. From the Musanze bus station, you can take a motorcycle taxi (known as 'moto') to the Kinigi park entrance. The moto ride should take about 30 minutes. Upon arriving at the Kinigi entrance, you will need to arrange for a local guide, as hiking in the park is only permitted with a guide. The cost of hiring a guide can vary, so it is advisable to negotiate beforehand.
