Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Durham, head southeast on North Road towards the railway station. Once you reach the station, exit and follow the signs for the bus station. Take the bus number 21 or 23 towards Peterlee or Seaham. Get off at the stop labeled 'Hett Village'. From the bus stop, walk down the main road until you reach Unnamed Road. Follow Unnamed Road for about 15 minutes until you reach Gary's Wood Entrance, located on your right.

    If you have a bicycle, start from the center of Durham and head south on the A167. Follow the cycle path alongside the road until you reach the roundabout near Hett Village. Take the first exit onto Unnamed Road and continue cycling for about 2 miles. You will see Gary's Wood Entrance on your left-hand side.
