Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Edinburgh Waverley Station, exit the station and head towards the East Market Street exit. Once outside, turn left and walk along the South Bridge. Continue straight until you reach the High Street (Royal Mile). Turn right onto the Royal Mile and walk uphill. Keep walking until you see the entrance to Edinburgh Castle on your right at Castlehill. Enter the castle grounds and follow the signs to The Gatehouse, which is located within the castle.

  • Bus

    From Princes Street, you can catch bus number 37 or 41. Board the bus heading towards 'The West End' or 'Haymarket'. Get off at the 'Johnston Terrace' stop. From there, walk towards the castle entrance by heading up the hill to Castlehill. Once you reach the entrance, follow the signs to The Gatehouse located within Edinburgh Castle.

  • Tram

    If you are near the tram stops on Princes Street, take the tram towards 'York Place' and disembark at the 'St Andrew Square' stop. From there, walk towards North St David's Street, then turn right onto the Royal Mile. Walk uphill until you reach Castlehill. Enter through the castle gates, and follow the signs to The Gatehouse.
