The entrance will be on your left, and you may need to walk a short distance down the trail to reach the cove.

    If you are renting a bike in Carmel-by-the-Sea, start on Ocean Avenue and head towards Highway 1 (CA-1). Turn left onto CA-1 and cycle south along the highway. The ride to Partington Cove is approximately 23 miles, so ensure you have enough time and energy for the journey. You will pass several viewpoints along the way. Keep an eye out for the sign for Partington Cove on your left. Once you arrive, lock your bike at a bike rack or a safe spot before heading to the cove.

    While there is no direct public transit route to Partington Cove, you can take the Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) bus from Carmel-by-the-Sea to Big Sur. Board the MST bus Route 22 at the bus stop on Ocean Avenue. After approximately an hour and a half ride, get off at the Big Sur stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 0.5 miles back north along Highway 1 to find the entrance to Partington Cove, which will be on your right.
