Walking
From the center of Carmel-by-the-Sea, head south on Ocean Avenue toward Mission Street. Continue on Ocean Avenue until you reach the junction with Highway 1. Turn left onto Highway 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) and follow the signs for Big Sur. The Seal Beach Overlook is approximately 19 miles south along this scenic highway. Enjoy the views along the way, and keep an eye out for the overlook on your right.

Public Transport
Start at the Carmel Plaza, which is located in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea. From there, walk to the nearest bus stop for the Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST). Take the MST Route 22 or Route 1 bus towards Big Sur. The bus will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to Seal Beach Overlook. Once you arrive, the overlook will be a short walk from the bus stop. Be sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for return trips.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Start your ride by heading south on Ocean Avenue, then turn left onto Highway 1. The ride to Seal Beach Overlook is about 19 miles and offers stunning coastal views. Please be cautious as you share the road with vehicles, and take advantage of any bike lanes available. Make sure to bring plenty of water and enjoy the ride!
