Getting There

    If you're driving from Hiroshima city, take the Sanyo Expressway (E2) and head towards Hatsukaichi. Exit at the Hatsukaichi Interchange and follow Route 2 towards Miyajima. Continue on Route 2 until you reach the signs for the Shishiiwa Observatory. There is parking available near the observatory, but make sure to check for any parking fees that may apply.

    From Hiroshima Station, take the JR Sanyo Line to Miyajima-guchi Station. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Miyajima-guchi, transfer to the ferry which will take you to Miyajima Island. The ferry ride takes about 10 minutes and costs around 180 yen one way. After arriving at Miyajima Island, follow the signs to the ropeway station. Take the ropeway to the top, where you will find the Shishiiwa Observatory. Be aware that the ropeway ticket costs approximately 1,800 yen for a round trip.
