If you are traveling by car from Izumo, start by heading west on Route 9 towards Oda. Continue on Route 9 for approximately 40 kilometers (about 50 minutes). Once you reach Oda, follow the signs for Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine, which will direct you to Route 315. The mine is located at Omoricho, Oda, Shimane 694-0305. Free parking is available near the entrance.

Public Transportation - Train
To reach Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine using public transportation, take the JR Sanin Line from Izumo Station to Oda Station. The train ride takes about 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Oda Station, transfer to the local bus service (Iwami Kotsu Bus) bound for Iwami Ginzan. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Please check the bus schedule as the frequency may vary. The bus will drop you off close to the entrance of the mine.

Alternatively, from Izumo, you can take a direct bus (Iwami Kotsu) from the Izumo bus terminal to Oda. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes. Once you arrive at Oda, you can transfer to the local Iwami Kotsu Bus heading to Iwami Ginzan. This bus ride takes another 30 minutes. Again, check the bus schedules in advance for the latest timings.
