Experience Onjo-ji (Mii-dera)

Getting There

  • Train

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Biwako Line (also known as the JR Kosei Line) towards Otsu. The train ride takes approximately 25 minutes. Get off at Mii-dera Station. Once you exit the station, turn left and follow the signs to Onjo-ji (Mii-dera), which is about a 15-20 minute walk.

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, you can also take Bus No. 206 or Bus No. 100 towards Otsu. Get off at the Onjo-ji (Mii-dera) bus stop. The journey takes about 40 minutes, depending on traffic. After getting off, follow the signs to the temple which is a short walk away.

  • Combination of Train and Bus

    Start at Kyoto Station and take the JR Biwako Line towards Otsu. Get off at Otsu Station. From there, transfer to a local bus (Bus No. 8 or Bus No. 14) and get off at the Onjo-ji (Mii-dera) stop, which takes about 10 minutes. The temple will be a short walk from the bus stop.
