Getting There

Train
From Kyoto Station, take the JR Biwako Line (also known as the JR Kosei Line) towards Otsu. The train ride takes about 20 minutes. Get off at Otsu Station. Once you arrive at Otsu Station, exit the station and head to the bus terminal located just outside.

Bus
At Otsu Station, board the Kintetsu Bus (No. 13 or No. 14) bound for 'Banba'. The bus ride takes approximately 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Banba' bus stop. From the bus stop, Gichuji is about a 5-minute walk.

After getting off at the 'Banba' bus stop, head east along the main road. You will see signs for Gichuji. Continue walking straight for about 400 meters until you reach the entrance of Gichuji. The temple is located at 1 Chome-5-12 Banba, Otsu, Shiga 520-0802.
