Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the vicinity of Kiyomizu-dera Temple, exit the temple grounds and head down the path towards the main road. Once you reach the main road (Kiyomizu-zaka), turn left and continue walking straight. You will soon see Sannenzaka, a charming, sloping street lined with traditional wooden buildings and shops. It is approximately a 10-minute walk from Kiyomizu-dera.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    From Kyoto Station, take bus number 100 or 206 towards Kiyomizu-dera. The bus ride will take about 20 minutes. Once you arrive at the Kiyomizu-michi bus stop, exit the bus and walk uphill for about 5 minutes. This will lead you directly to Sannenzaka.

  • Walking from Gion

    If you are in the Gion area, walk along Shijo Avenue and cross the Kamo River. Continue straight until you reach the Kiyomizu-zaka street. Turn right and walk up the street for about 15 minutes.
