Getting There

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Biwako Line (Tokaido Line) to Otsu Station (approximately 9 minutes). From Otsu Station, take bus number 10 towards Hamaotsu (approx. 15 minutes). Get off at the 'Hamaotsu' bus stop. Walk east for about 5 minutes to reach the fountain. The train fare from Kyoto to Otsu is around ¥200-¥300. The bus fare is approximately ¥220.

    From Keihan Biwako Hamaotsu Station, the fountain is a short 4-minute walk. From JR Otsu Station, exit the station and walk southeast along the main road for approximately 20 minutes, following signs towards Lake Biwa. You will pass shops and cafes along the way until you see the Biwako Flower Fountain on your left.
