Car
From any location in Osumi, head towards Route 10 and drive north towards Kyoto. Follow the signs for Kyoto and merge onto the Meishin Expressway. Continue on the expressway until you reach the exit for Kyoto. Once you exit, follow the signs for Ukyo Ward and then for Sagaogurayama Tabuchiyamacho. Okochi Sanso Garden is located at 8 Sagaogurayama Tabuchiyamacho. There is parking available near the garden, but be aware that there may be a parking fee.

Start by taking a train from the nearest station in Osumi to Kyoto Station. You can take the JR Line which usually takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Kyoto Station, transfer to the local bus system. Board the bus that goes towards Sagaogurayama Tabuchiyamacho. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the nearest bus stop to Okochi Sanso Garden and walk approximately 10 minutes to the garden entrance.
