Car
If you're traveling by car from central Shinano, start by heading towards Route 18. Follow Route 18 for approximately 20 kilometers. As you approach Nagano City, take the exit toward Nagano Interchange (長野IC). After exiting, continue on the Nagano Expressway for about 6 kilometers. Take the exit for Nagano City and follow the signs for Hakoshimizu (穂高). The Nagano Prefectural Art Museum is located at 1 Chome-4-4 Hakoshimizu, Nagano, 380-0801, just a short drive from the exit. Parking is available at the museum; however, be mindful of any parking fees that may apply.

Public Transportation
To reach the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum via public transportation, start at Shinano Station. Take the JR Shinano Line train to Nagano Station, which takes approximately 30 minutes. Once at Nagano Station, exit the station and head to the bus terminal located just outside. Take the Nagano City Loop Bus (Nagano Dentetsu) and get off at the 'Hakoshimizu' stop (穂高). The museum is a 5-minute walk from the bus stop. The total cost for the train and bus should be around 1,000 to 1,500 yen depending on the time of travel.
