Getting There

  • Shuttle

    From the Zion Canyon Visitor Center, take the free park shuttle to The Grotto (Shuttle Stop #6). Exit the shuttle and use the crosswalk to reach the bridge over the Virgin River. After crossing the bridge, turn left and ascend the sandstone steps to reach the Kayenta Trailhead. Shuttle service is free, but can be crowded during peak season. Arrive early to avoid long waits.

  • Walking

    If you are already at the Grotto Picnic Area, the Kayenta Trailhead is located across the bridge over the Virgin River. Use the crosswalk to safely cross the road, then take the sandstone steps up to the start of the trail. The trail begins a slight climb up the foothills.

This 0.9-mile (1.4 km) trail serves as a vital connector, linking the Grotto Trailhead to the popular Emerald Pools area.
