Car
If you are driving, start from the Mount Field National Park Visitor Centre, located on Lake Dobson Road. From the Visitor Centre, head south on Lake Dobson Road until you reach the T-junction. Turn left onto the Gordon River Road (A10). Continue along this road for approximately 15 km until you reach the turnoff for Scott's Peak Road. Turn left onto Scott's Peak Road and follow it for about 10 km. Look for parking areas along the road, as the final approach involves a short walk to the lookout. Red Knoll Lookout is located just off Scott's Peak Road.

If you are using public transport, take the Metro Tasmania bus service that operates from Hobart to Mount Field National Park. Once you arrive at the park, you may need to arrange a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Scott's Peak Road, as there are no direct public transport options to Red Knoll Lookout. Ensure to check the bus timetable in advance for availability, as services may be limited. The taxi ride will take approximately 30 minutes from the main park area to the lookout.

Follow the well-marked walking trail leading to the lookout, which offers stunning views of the surrounding area.
