This tour allows visitors to marvel at the island views from the observation deck or descend into an underwater wonderland to explore vibrant marine life and a century-old shipwreck.As the vessel cruises along Rarotonga's northern coast, guests can observe various marine creatures such as giant trevally, tropical fish, stingrays, turtles, and eels. During whale season, humpback whales are also commonly seen. While the coral may appear damaged due to natural events, the remains of the RMS Maitai shipwreck and coral-encrusted artifacts offer a unique insight into underwater history.The Raro Reef Sub provides a safe and enjoyable experience for all ages, with ample handrails and seating. The tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours and is offered from Sunday to Friday, with multiple departure times. The vessel is a sturdy steel boat with slanting windows, offering both above-deck and below-deck viewing options.

From the Punanga Nui Market in Avarua, walk west along the main road (Ara Tapu) for approximately 5 minutes. Avatiu Harbour and the Raro Reef Sub departure point will be on your left. No costs involved.
