Getting There

  • Walking

    From the main road (Ara Tapu) in Vaimaanga, head inland on Papua Road towards the mountains. The road is unpaved and can be rough. Walk for approximately 20-30 minutes. The road ends at a parking area near the waterfall trail. From there, it's a short walk to Wigmore's Waterfall. Note: There may be a small entry fee for vehicles (around NZ$2 for scooters, NZ$5 for cars), but walking is typically free.

  • Public Transport

    Take the local bus from Avarua towards the southern side of the island, heading in the direction of the Takitumu District. Ask the driver to drop you off at the intersection of Ara Tapu and Papua Road in Vaimaanga. From there, follow the walking directions. Bus fare is approximately NZ$5 one way. Be mindful of the bus schedule, as services can be infrequent.
