If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Kyoto and take the Route 1 (Kawaramachi Street) heading southeast. Follow the signs towards Higashiyama Ward. After approximately 15 minutes, you will reach Yasaka Kamimachi. Look for parking options nearby, as parking may be limited in the area, and be prepared to pay parking fees, which can range from 300 to 600 yen per hour. Once parked, walk towards the Hokan-ji Gojunoto, which is a short 5-minute walk from the parking area.

Public Transportation
To reach Hokan-ji Gojunoto using public transportation, take the Kyoto City Bus from Kyoto Station. You can take Bus Number 100 or 206 and get off at 'Gion' bus stop. The journey takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Gion, follow signs towards Yasaka Shrine. After visiting the shrine, walk approximately 10 minutes to Yasaka Kamimachi where the pagoda is located. Be aware that the bus fare is around 230 yen for a one-way trip.

If you're already in the Higashiyama area, you can simply walk to Hokan-ji Gojunoto. From the nearest landmark, Yasaka Shrine, head south along Yasaka Kamimachi Street. The pagoda will be visible as you approach, and the walk will take approximately 10 minutes. This area is pedestrian-friendly and offers beautiful views along the way.
