Getting There

  • Public Transportation

    From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Line subway (Line K) towards Kokusaikaikan. Ride for about 15 minutes and get off at Kitaoji Station. At Kitaoji Station, leave through Exit 1. Once outside, walk to the bus stop and board bus number 204 or 205 (Daitoku-ji Temple direction). After approximately 10-15 minutes, get off at the Daitoku-ji bus stop. From there, Daitoku-ji Ryogen-in is a short 5-minute walk. Follow the signs towards Daitoku-ji Temple, and you will find Ryogen-in easily.

    If you are already in the vicinity of Daitoku-ji, you can walk to Ryogen-in. The temple is located at 82-1 Murasakino Daitokujicho in the Kita Ward. Look for the Daitoku-ji Temple entrance, and once inside the temple complex, follow the signs to Ryogen-in, which is one of the sub-temples.
