Getting There

  • Public Transport

    If you are at Kyoto Station, head to the Karasuma Subway Line (the green line) and take the train towards Kokusaikaikan Station. Get off at the Imadegawa Station (it’s the fourth stop). After exiting the station, take Exit 1. Once you are out, walk straight along Imadegwa Street for about 10 minutes until you reach Horikawa Street. Turn left onto Horikawa Street and walk for another 5 minutes; you will see the Suika Tenmangu Shrine on your right at 722-10 Ogicho.

  • Walking

    If you are in the downtown area of Kyoto, for example near Nishiki Market, head north towards Shijo Avenue and turn right. Walk along Shijo Avenue until you reach the intersection with Karasuma Street. Turn left onto Karasuma Street and continue walking north until you reach Imadegawa Street. Turn right onto Imadegawa Street and walk straight for about 15 minutes until you reach Horikawa Street. Turn left on Horikawa Street and you will find Suika Tenmangu Shrine at 722-10 Ogicho on your right.

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus number 204 or 205. Get off at the 'Kyoto Gyoenmae' bus stop. From there, head north on Horikawa Street; the Suika Tenmangu Shrine is about a 10-minute walk from the bus stop at 722-10 Ogicho, which will be on your left.
