From Dubrovnik's main bus station (Autobusni kolodvor), take bus number 12 towards Trsteno. The bus leaves every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Make sure to pay for your ticket either at the station or on the bus. Once you arrive at Trsteno, get off at the stop named 'Trsteno'. After disembarking, walk towards the entrance of the Trsteno Arboretum, which is a short 10-minute walk from the bus stop.

Head to the Dubrovnik harbor (Gruž) and look for the ferry services that head towards the nearby coastal areas. While there may not be a direct boat to Trsteno, you can take a ferry to a nearby port like Slano or a similar location. From the port, you would then need to take a local bus or taxi to reach Trsteno Arboretum. Check the local ferry schedules for the most accurate times.

If you're feeling adventurous and have the time, you can walk to Trsteno from Dubrovnik. Begin at the Old Town and head north towards the main road, following the signs towards the Dubrovnik bridge (Franjo Tuđman Bridge). Once you reach the bridge, you will find a pathway that leads you out of the city. However, this is a long walk (approximately 11 kilometers) and may take around 2-3 hours depending on your pace. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
