If you are traveling by car, navigate to Honpukuji Temple by heading east on Route 1 from central Kyoto. Continue on Route 1 for about 8 km until you reach the intersection with Route 36. Turn right onto Route 36 and continue for approximately 4 km. Follow the signs for Sakyo Ward, and then turn left onto Nijo-dori. After about 1 km, you will see Honpukuji Temple on your left at 349 Nijo-sagaru, Kashiracho, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that some areas may require a parking fee.

Public Transportation
To reach Honpukuji Temple using public transportation, start by taking the Kyoto City Bus from Kyoto Station. Board the bus number 205 or 17, heading towards 'Kinkaku-ji'. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the 'Nijojo-mae' stop. From there, transfer to bus number 204 or 93 heading towards 'Ichijoji' and get off at 'Kashiracho' stop. The temple is a short 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Walk east along Nijo-dori, and you will arrive at Honpukuji Temple at 349 Nijo-sagaru, Kashiracho, Sakyo Ward.
