    If you are driving, start by heading north on Route 1 from central Kyoto. Follow the signs for Route 367 which will take you through beautiful countryside. After approximately 15 kilometers, you will reach Shugakuin Kaikonbocho. Turn onto Shugakuin Kaikonbocho Street and continue for about 2 kilometers. The temple will be on your left. There is parking available on-site, but please check if there are any parking fees.

    To reach Sekizan-zen-in Temple by public transport, take the Kyoto City Bus #204 or #205 from Kyoto Station or nearby areas to the 'Shugakuin' bus stop. The journey takes around 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Shugakuin stop, exit the bus and walk approximately 1 kilometer north along Shugakuin Kaikonbocho Street. The temple will be on your left. Be sure to check the bus schedules, as they can vary. A single bus fare costs around 230 yen.
