Public Transport - Minibus
From Matola, head to the main bus station located at Praça da Paz. Look for a minibus (chapas) heading towards Inhaca Island. The fare should be affordable, usually around 20-30 meticais. Make sure to tell the driver you're going to Machalungo Beach, as they might not be familiar with the name. The journey will take about 40 minutes to an hour depending on traffic.
Ferry
Once you arrive at the port in Inhaca after your minibus ride, disembark and head to the ferry terminal. Look for a ferry that goes to Machalungo Beach. The ferry ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to check the ferry schedule as it may vary, and it's advisable to buy a return ticket.
Walking
After arriving at the Machalungo Beach ferry drop-off point, follow the path leading to the beach area. It’s well indicated and the walk should take about 10-15 minutes. Enjoy the scenery as you make your way to the beach, where you can relax and take in the beautiful views.
