Walk
From St. Peter's Basilica, exit through the main entrance and head towards the Vatican Museums. Walk straight down the Via della Conciliazione until you reach the Castel Sant'Angelo. Once you reach the Castel Sant'Angelo, continue walking straight until you reach the traffic light at the intersection with Via di Porta Castello. Cross the street and head towards the Metro station called 'Ottaviano'. Walk along Via Ottaviano until you reach the Metro station. Take Line A towards Anagnina and get off at the Termini station. From Termini, transfer to Line B and take the train towards Laurentina. Get off at the Colosseo station, which is the closest stop to the Domus Aurea. After exiting the station, follow the signs towards Via della Domus Aurea. The entrance to the Domus Aurea will be a short walk from there.
Public Transport
From St. Peter's Basilica, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Via della Conciliazione. Take bus number 40 or 64 towards Termini. After a short ride, get off at the Termini station. From there, transfer to Metro Line B and take the train towards Laurentina. Get off at the Colosseo station. After exiting the station, follow the signs towards Via della Domus Aurea. The entrance to the Domus Aurea will be a short walk from there.
