Walking
From St. Peter's Basilica, exit the basilica and head towards the main square, Piazza San Pietro. Once you are in the square, face the obelisk in the center. Walk straight towards the colonnades and exit the square through the main entrance. Once you are out of the square, take a left onto Via della Conciliazione. Continue walking straight until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the river using the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge. After crossing, continue straight along the riverbank until you reach Lungotevere de' Cenci. The Tempio Maggiore will be on your left.
Bus
From St. Peter's Basilica, walk to the bus stop located at Piazza San Pietro, which is just outside the basilica. Look for the bus number 23 or 280, which will take you towards the area near Lungotevere de' Cenci. After boarding the bus, stay on for about 10-15 minutes. You will get off at the stop 'Porta San Paolo.' From there, walk straight down Via Ostiense until you reach Lungotevere de' Cenci. The Tempio Maggiore will be a short walk down the road on your right.
Taxi
For a more comfortable option, you can take a taxi from St. Peter's Basilica directly to Tempio Maggiore. Taxis are available outside the main entrance of the basilica. Inform the driver to take you to Lungotevere de' Cenci. The ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to have the address written down or show it on your phone to the driver.
