Bus
To reach the Kyoto Botanical Gardens from Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus #205 or #17. Board the bus at the bus stop located at the station's north exit. After about 25 minutes, get off at the 'Kyoto Botanical Garden' stop. From there, the entrance to the gardens is a short walk (about 5 minutes) straight ahead.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the many rental shops near Kyoto Station. Head northeast towards the Kamogawa River, then follow the river north for approximately 3 km. You'll see signs for the Kyoto Botanical Gardens on your right. The gardens have a bike parking area near the entrance.

For a scenic walk, start at the Kyoto Imperial Palace. Exit the palace grounds and head northeast through the gardens towards the Kamogawa River. Follow the river north until you reach the Kyoto Botanical Gardens. The walk is about 2.5 km and will take roughly 30 minutes, offering beautiful views along the way.

From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line (green line) heading towards Kokusai Kaikan. Transfer at 'Marutamachi Station' after 4 stops. Once you exit, take Exit 1 and walk north for about 15 minutes to reach the Kyoto Botanical Gardens. Look for signs pointing towards the gardens.
