Walking
If you are in Nara city center, head towards the Nara Park area. From the park, take the Kintetsu Nara Station and board a train to Kyoto Station. Upon arrival at Kyoto Station, exit the station and follow the signs for the Karasuma Subway Line. Take the subway to Shijo Station. Once you arrive at Shijo Station, exit the station and turn right onto Shijo Street. Walk along Shijo Street until you reach the intersection with Kawaramachi Street, then turn left. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Sanjo Street. Turn right at this intersection and walk until you reach the next intersection with Nishiki Market. GEAR / Non-Verbal Theatre is located in the 1928 Building on the 3rd floor at 56 Benkeiishicho, just a short walk from the market.
Public Transportation
From Nara, take the Kintetsu Nara Line train towards Kyoto. The train ride will take about 45 minutes. Get off at Kyoto Station. Once at Kyoto Station, transfer to the Karasuma Subway Line and take the subway to Shijo Station. Exit the subway station and walk towards Shijo Street, then turn right. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Kawaramachi Street, turn left and continue until you arrive at the Sanjo intersection, where you will turn right. Walk straight until you reach Nishiki Market, and GEAR / Non-Verbal Theatre is located in the 1928 Building on the 3rd floor at 56 Benkeiishicho.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct method, you can take a taxi from Nara to GEAR / Non-Verbal Theatre in Kyoto. Simply tell the driver the address: 〒604-8082 Kyoto, Nakagyo Ward, Benkeiishicho, 56 1928ビル 3階. The journey will take approximately 50 minutes depending on traffic. This option avoids the need for transfers and is ideal for those traveling with luggage or seeking convenience.
