Walking
From the center of St. Peter's Square, face the Basilica. Walk towards the colonnades and exit the square through the central path that leads towards Via della Conciliazione. Once you reach Via della Conciliazione, turn right and continue walking until you reach the first intersection. Turn left onto Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Continue straight for about 1 km, then turn right onto Piazza del Campidoglio. The Capitoline Museums will be on your left at Piazza del Campidoglio, 1.

From St. Peter's Square, walk towards the nearest bus stop located on Via della Conciliazione. Take Bus Line 40 or 62 towards Termini. Get off at the stop 'Piazza Venezia.' From there, walk up Via del Teatro di Marcello, and then turn left onto Via di San Giovanni in Laterano. Continue straight until you reach Piazza del Campidoglio, where the Capitoline Museums are located.
