Walking
From St. Peter's Square, exit the square through the main entrance facing the Basilica. Walk straight down Via della Conciliazione for about 1 kilometer until you reach the Tiber River. Continue walking straight until you see the bridge, Ponte Sant'Angelo. Cross the bridge and continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Via di San Giovanni in Laterano. Turn left onto Via di San Giovanni in Laterano and continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers. You will pass the Colosseum on your right. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will reach Circus Maximus, which will be on your left.

Public Transport
From St. Peter's Square, walk to the nearest metro station, Ottaviano (Line A). Take the metro from Ottaviano towards Anagnina and get off at the Termini station. At Termini, transfer to Line B and take the metro towards Laurentina. Get off at the Circo Massimo station. From there, Circus Maximus is just a short walk away. Exit the station and head towards the large open space; you will see the ruins of Circus Maximus.
