Getting There

• Bus

  From downtown Lawrence, head to the nearest bus stop and take the Lawrence Transit bus towards the Lawrence Municipal Airport. Make sure to check the transit schedule for the correct times. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the stop that connects to a transfer point for buses heading towards Rockport. Once there, switch to the bus line that goes directly to Rockport. After another 45 minutes, you will arrive in Rockport. From the bus stop, it is a short 10-minute walk to Front Beach.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in downtown Lawrence. Start on Massachusetts Street heading east until you reach the intersection with 9th Street. Turn left onto 9th Street and follow the bike lanes to connect with the bike path leading out of Lawrence. Continue on the bike path that leads towards the outskirts of the city and ultimately towards Rockport. The ride will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Be sure to follow bike signage and take the necessary precautions while navigating the roads.

• Walking

  If you prefer to walk, start from the center of Lawrence and make your way to Massachusetts Street. Head north and follow the pedestrian paths leading out of the city towards Rockport. This is a long trek, approximately 10 miles, and will take several hours, so ensure you have plenty of water and comfortable walking shoes. Follow the signs for pedestrian routes, and be mindful of traffic as you leave the city limits.
