Walking
If you are in the center of Bohinj, start by heading towards the Bohinj Lake. You can follow the signs leading to Lake Bohinj. Once you reach the lake, keep walking along the eastern shore towards the north. You will be walking past beautiful views of the lake and mountains. Continue walking for about 30 minutes until you reach the north end of the lake where the river Soča flows out. The river is well-marked and should be easy to spot.

From the Bohinj Tourist Information Center, rent a bicycle and head towards the lake on the main path. Follow the scenic bike route along the southern shoreline of Lake Bohinj. This route takes approximately 20 minutes. Once you reach the northern end of the lake, you will see signs for the Soča river. Follow the path that leads you to the riverbank, which is a popular area for tourists.

From Bohinj, you can take a local bus to the nearby village of Ukanc. At the Ukanc bus stop, exit the bus and follow the path leading down towards Lake Bohinj. Continue walking along the path for about 15 minutes until you reach the northern end of the lake where the Soča river begins. The bus operates several times a day, so check the schedule for departure times.
