Walking
From the Vatican Museums, exit the main entrance and turn left onto Viale Vaticano. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via Leone IV. Turn right onto Via Leone IV and walk for about 10 minutes, passing by several shops and cafes. When you reach Piazza San Pietro, continue straight through the square towards Via della Conciliazione. Cross the street and follow it until you reach the Tiber River. Turn left and walk along the riverbank for about 15 minutes. You will arrive at the Circus Maximus, which will be on your right.
Public Transport
From the Vatican Museums, exit and walk to the nearest bus stop located on Viale Vaticano. Board bus line 81, which is heading towards 'Piazza Venezia'. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at the 'Circo Massimo' stop. From there, walk towards the Circus Maximus, which is just a short 5-minute walk away. You will see the ruins as you approach.
